This is an additional headline from the Cyber Threat Weekly regarding the recent blackbaud.
At least 10 universities in the UK, US and Canada have had data stolen about students and or alumni after hackers attacked a cloud computing provider. Institutions who have been confirmed to have been affected are the University of York, Exeter, Leeds, London. Loughborough, Oxford, Oxford Brookes and Reading.
In Canada, the University of Ambrose, Alberta, and in the US, Rhode Island School of Design,
Also confirmed to have been affected, Human Rights Watch, and children's mental health charity Young Minds.
In some cases, the stolen data included phone numbers, donation history, and events attended. Credit card and other payment details do not appear to have been exposed.
The UK National Trust later confirmed they have been affected. The National Trust said that the data about its volunteering and fundraising communities had been involved, but not that of its wider 5.6 million members.
On the 29th of July 2020, 33 other charities had also reported related incidents to the UK Charity Commission.
If you have connections to any of these organisations, it is advised passwords linked to accounts be changed and along with login details to financial Institute's also be changed.
